A domain name is the unique address at which your website can be found, like www.mybusiness.co.uk.

When you buy an OnlineBizBuilder website package, you'll need to either:

• buy a "domain name" at which to locate your site OR
• transfer a domain name you already own to our servers, so that we can locate your site at it for you.

The cost of domain names is not included in OnlineBizBuilder website packages.

Buying a domain name

You can specify which domain name(s) you want for your website when you build it using OnlineBizBuilder. Domain names can be bought for any period between 1 and 10 years (2 and 10 years in the case of .uk domains) and our pricing is as follows:

Note that you can't own a domain name outright - you lease it for anything up to 10 years (the maximum).

You can buy as many domain names as you want for an OnlineBizBuilder site: all of them can be made to point at the same site.

Transferring a domain name

If you already own a domain name, and want to locate your OnlineBizBuilder site at it, you'll need to transfer that domain to us. You’ll still be the owner of your domain name. You’ll get the opportunity to transfer your domain name to us as you build your OnlineBizBuilder website. We don’t charge to transfer .uk domains to us, though there is a £19 + vat charge to transfer .com / .net / .org / .biz / .info domains to us, which also automatically extends your domain name ownership by one year. Some service providers may charge you to ‘release’ a domain name from them, usually about £15 + vat.
