OnlineBizBuilder uses WorldPay to safely and securely authorise and process all credit and debit card payments.
To sell online with OnlineBizBuilder you need a WorldPay internet trading account (often called a “Junior Select” account in their terminology). You can apply for one here or at any time during the set up of your OnlineBizBuilder ecommerce website. Assertis (the holding company of OnlineBizBuilder) is an affiliated partner of WorldPay
Most businesses get accepted within seven working days – there are very few rejections!
To get a WorldPay internet trading account you will need to:
- complete their application process
- pay £160 + vat annual subscription charge, plus a one-off set up charge of £100 + vat
- enter your WorldPay installation ID (a five digit number) into OnlineBizBuilder, so that you can receive the right funds!
- have a UK bank account to which your funds can be remitted
You will also need to make sure that:
- your website contains a refunds policy (WorldPay do check for this!) – example refund policies are given in the set up process
- your website displays its terms and conditions clearly – again, example T&Cs are given in the set up process
With WorldPay you can accept payments from all the cards below:
commission and time to remit funds
The amount of commission you will pay to WorldPay, and the time taken for your funds taken to reach your bank account, will depend on what type of account you apply for with WorldPay; this in turn depends on how long you have been trading, and how big your business is. The general rules are:
- if you are an internet-only business, or have little or no formal trading history (with accounts to back you up), then you will need to use WorldPay’s WorldDirect account. Effectively, you are using their Internet Merchant ID to trade online. In this instance there is a charge of 4.5% for credit card processing, and 50p for debit card processing, and funds take between 4 and 5 weeks to reach your bank account
- if you have an established business, with trading accounts, then you should be able to get an internet merchant ID from your own bank, and use WorldPay just for processing. Please contact us if you think that this may apply to you, and we will give guidance on the subject. In this instance there is a charge of 1.6% for credit card processing, and funds take between 2 and 3 working days to reach your bank account. Your bank will make a commission charge also, but the total including WorldPay’s commission should be less than 4.5%.
