Q. Do I need any special software to build an OnlineBizBuilder site?

A. No. All you need is an internet-connected PC with a recent browser (you must have Internet Explorer 5.5 or above).

You cannot build or edit an OnlineBizBuilder website using a Mac or a PC with an older version of Internet Explorer or Netscape or any other browser.

Your finished website will, however, work for customers no matter what browser they have.

Q. Does it matter what browser customers viewing my site have, or whether they use a Mac or PC?

A. No, it doesn't matter at all.

Q. I'd like to use OnlineBizBuilder to create my site, but to host it on some webspace that my ISP has provided. Can I do this?

A. I'm afraid not. The OnlineBizBuilder package includes hosting on our servers, which are optimised to run OnlineBizBuilder. You cannot transfer your OnlineBizBuilder site to another hosting service.

Q. I've already created a site in DreamWeaver / FrontPage / some other website building software. How do I transfer it to OnlineBizBuilder?

A. There's no automated way to do this. You will need to recreate the basic design using OnlineBizBuilder, and then cut and paste text across. We will be happy to do this for you if you wish - see our Timesaver service.

Q. Conversely, I'd like to transfer an OnlineBizBuilder site to another package. Can I do this?

A. The process is much the same - you will need to recreate your design and then cut and paste text.

Q. Where is my OnlineBizBuilder site located? How do I know it's safe?

A. Your site will be located on one of our servers at our data centre partners WebFusion, , based in London and Nottingham.

Q. How much bandwidth am I allowed?

A. All sites are allowed up to 1Gb per month - that's enough for about 10,000 page views. We'll be increasing this soon and adding an option to purchase more bandwidth too.

Q. Is my OnlineBizBuilder site backed up? How often?

A. Yes, your site is backed up every fifteen minutes on our data centre servers, and nightly to our offices. In the unlikely event of a server failure, we should be able to restore to your site to the previous day's situation at the worst.

Q. Can I use File Transfer Protocol (FTP) to upload changes to my website?

A. No. OnlineBizBuilder is developed as an easy-to-use website service for people without technical knowledge or without the time to acquire it. The OnlineBizBuilder Site Manager allows almost complete custom designing of your site and covers most of the functions that would be covered by FTP.

Q. I've got some HTML skills. Can I use these to edit the pages of my OnlineBizBuilder site?

A. As OnlineBizBuilder is a non-technical program, it is not designed for HTML use. It incorporates many of the features of HTML anyway.
